Challenging, exhausting, very competitive but great fun and well worth taking part!

What’s involved in being a mentor?

We could not run our Your Green Future events without the invaluable support of our business mentors—individuals from the world of industry who guide students in the event workshops.

The mentor’s role involves using their own knowledge to guide and support small groups of 6-8 students through the tasks set to them in the workshops, by the workshop facilitator who leads the session. Which workshop the mentor supports is entirely up to them though we do find the majority of people stick to workshops that reflect their area of expertise or interest.

Being a mentor can be a truly extraordinary experience, providing access to an audience who, unfettered by preconceived ideas and practicalities, often provide truly novel solutions to the real-life problems put to them.
