As Director of Product Integrity at the Fairtrade Foundation, David Meller is responsible for overseeing the licensing of the FAIRTRADE Mark by more than 400 UK businesses, and ensuring that the thousands of products that carry the Mark meet Fairtrade standards.
Before joining the Fairtrade Foundation, David was Director of Operations at the charity FareShare, which redistributes surplus food that would otherwise be wasted. Prior to that he spent 20 years at Sainsbury’s, where he held a number of technical and commercial roles and was latterly responsible for sustainable sourcing.

Peter Braithwaite is the Chair of Sustainability West Midlands’ and was until recently European Head of Sustainability for CH2M HILL, a global leader in programme management. Peter joined CH2M HILL to take on the role of Head of Sustainability for the London 2012 Olympic Games Delivery Partner and then leading their European sustainability services. Peter is now an independent consultant and has part time roles as Director of Sustainability at the University of Birmingham, where he combines lecturing and research, and Examining Inspector for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects with the Planning Inspectorate.
Peter is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Chartered Environmentalist and has worked in the West Midlands for much of his 27 year career with Arup, where he was ultimately Director leading their environmental and sustainability services in the Region. He has also fulfilled non-executive Director roles with Birmingham Groundwork, the Business Council for Sustainable Development and the Midlands Environmental Business Company and was Chair of Solihull Groundwork. Peter has worked with local authorities and the private sector across the UK and internationally.
