Willmott Dixon

Willmott Dixon is one of the UK’s largest privately-owned capital works, regeneration and support service companies. Locally, we are building the new Keynsham Town Hall which is anticipated to complete in Summer 2014. The central location of the project meant that good communication and early engagement with the local community was vital to ensure the Sustainability objectives of the company were communicated through the long term benefits the project will bring.

Bristol Power is a community renewable energy group putting solar panels ‘for free’ on homes across Bristol – initially 23 roofs in Lockleaze and 25 in south Bristol.  We are part of the solar and community energy revolutions, helping create green jobs, the UK’s cheapest electricity, and energy independence for Bristol.  

BMT Group

BMT Group is a leading international multi-disciplinary engineering, science and technology consultancy offering a broad range of services, particularly in the defence, energy, environment, shipping and ports and logistics sectors. University of the West of England

UWE-FET delivers a range of courses relating to energy demand reduction, from the design of low energy buildings to integration of low energy technologies to the areas of management and policy. 

Ecotricity

Ecotricity is the world’s first green energy company. Reinvesting money from customers’ bills into building new sources of renewable electricity and gas has allowed us to develop 53 wind turbines and a solar site across the UK. With numerous other developments in the pipeline, we aim to continue at the forefront of renewable energy.

University of the West of England

Richard Spalding teaches rural geography in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at UWE-Bristol. He is currently researching the potential for using high quality farmland on the north Bristol fringe for growing food to help feed the hungry city.

Worldwide we need urgently to protect and regenerate our soils for food growing. Right here in Bristol we have some incredible quality agricultural land (The Blue Finger) that is home to amazing food projects, BUT it is threatened, right now, with damaging development. We want to stop that from happening. It is critical that we create a resilient food system and Soil is where it begins. Please join us!

The Community Farm

The Community Farm supplies fresh organic fruit and vegetables to homes and businesses in and around Bristol, Bath, Frome and the Chew Valley. We are a community-focused social enterprise – more than 500 local people share ownership of the farm and have a say in how it is run. We provide hands-on experience of organic farming through volunteering, school visits, children's activities, adult learning courses and special events.

We Do Ethical Fashion

We Do Ethical Fashion Organisation is committed to raising awareness and the profile of ethical fashion. Since 2009 they’ve been recycling clothing & using TV & events to promote ethical practice and values. The organisation is supported by their luxury upcycled label ‘WeDoReDo’, and founder, Kelly Levell, who works to assist other businesses in implementing good corporate social responsibility through consultancy, eco-apparel manufacture, supply & print. 

Fairtrade Network

Bristol Fairtrade and South Gloucestershire Fairtrade Networks promote the use and awareness of Fairtrade in the area, through schools, businesses, charities and volunteers. Fairtrade guarantees small farmers a fair income with a premium to invest in their communities, as well as promoting sustainable farming.  

Labour Behind the Label

Labour Behind the Label support garment workers worldwide and campaign for better working conditions, human rights and fair pay in the global garment industry. We work to educate and mobilise consumers, pressure companies to take responsibility and treat their workers fairly through the entirety of their supply chains, campaign for governments to legislate on corporate responsibility, and help workers to get their voices heard worldwide.

Ultra Global PRT

Ultra Global PRT are the designers, developers and operators of the innovative Heathrow pod Personal Rapid Transport (PRT) at London’s Heathrow Airport. Ultra’s technology which uses small driverless electric vehicles that run on dedicated guideways has been in operation at the Airport since May 2011 and will shortly carry its 1 millionth passenger.
