Your Green Future

A free Your Green Future evening event was held on the 29^th September 2010 from 6pm until 8pm at the Pittville Pump Rooms, Cheltenham. 

Over 150 people came to listen to business and political specialists offer insights into the rapid growth of the green economy and the ways in which we are moving towards a green future. 

The speakers took part in a lively question and answer session alongside Martin Horwood, MP for Cheltenham. 

Attendees browsed a wide range of exhibitors representing local and national green businesses.

Walter Menzies

Walter Menzies is an independent advocate of sustainable development working on projects such as Mersey Tidal Power. He was a member of the government's Sustainable Development Commission, was chief executive of the Mersey Basin Campaign and worked for many years with Groundwork - locally, regionally and nationally.

Lord Paul Tyler CBE

In 2005 Paul Tyler retired, after serving for 14 years, as MP for North Cornwall. In addition to his relentless campaigning on a broad range of issues during his time in the House of Commons, Paul also served the Liberal Democrat Front Bench as Chief Whip and most recently as Shadow Leader of the House. Paul was subsequently made a working peer and introduced to the House of Lords. He is now Liberal Democrat spokesman in the Lords on constitutional reform issues, and served on the 2006 Joint Committee on Conventions, which examined and set out the relationship between the House of Lords and the House of Commons.
