Rotary International is a volunteer organisation of 1.2 million business and professional men and women united world wide to provide humanitarian service and help build good will and peace. The 32,000 Rotary clubs around the world conduct projects to address today’s challenges – including illiteracy, disease, hunger, poverty, lack of clean water, and environmental concerns – while encouraging high ethical standards in all vocations.
InterClimate Network (ICN) mobilises the energy and creativity of young people, inspiring them to become active citizens and leaders in sustainable, low carbon, economic development. ICN implements dynamic programmes, notably Model Climate Conference's, which are modelled on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Graphic Science manages the STEM Ambassador Programme for the Bristol, Bath & Somerset and Gloucestershire regions. In addition to this Graphic Science runs a number of communications and education projects in the areas of science and engineering; working collaboratively with national partners to find innovation and exciting ways to take science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) to a variety of audiences.
Stroud District Council
Stroud District Council (SDC) is a rural local authority with a population of 112,779 in 47,794 households (census 2011). SDC has very good links with local education organisations, businesses and the voluntary and community sector with a well-established Local Strategic Partnership. Cotswold District Council
Cotswold District Council has 44 Councillors, representing 28 wards. Reporting to the Council is a Cabinet and five main Committees, covering Planning, Licensing, Audit and Scrutiny, Appeals, and Standards. The Council’s officers work in twelve service areas, grouped into three Directorates – Environment, Planning and Communities, and Corporate Resources.
University of Gloucestershire
The University of Gloucestershire places students at the heart of its activities. Consistently ranking in the top 5 of the People and Planet Green League since 2007, and ranking 1st for Sustainability Teaching and Learning practice in UK Universities, Gloucestershire prides itself as a leader in sustainability for its academic work and corporate performance.
In partnership with the private, public and voluntary sectors, GFirst LEP secured a historic Growth Deal with the Government to invest £62.5 million in Gloucestershire. This investment will lead to significant growth opportunities and unlock complementary funding from Private, Public and European sources. This will create 33,909 new jobs and 5,421 apprenticeships by 2020. Developing a highly skilled, highly employable and economically productive population is central to our growth ambitions.
